A Theory that Changed Me

As I’ve stated in other posts it took me years to learn how to navigate having a chronic disease. I am constantly being told “You don’t look sick”. Well one story in particular addressed this and stayed with me over the years and had a huge impact on me called The Spoon Theory by Christine Miserandino.  I have posted it on my personal FB numerous times, read it to friends and have told them that I have used all of my “spoons” for the day.  It is an exceptional story and explains living with Lupus or any other chronic disease better than most things I have read.  This story changed the way I saw myself personally by taking away some of the guilt of being sick and helping me realize it was okay. It has also helped people that love me get a glimpse into what I deal with everyday, to understand living with a chronic disease a little better.  I hope you enjoy reading it and utilize it as much as I have and share it with those close to you :-).

Once again thank you for being a part of my journey and letting me be a part of yours!  I pray that I gave you some hope & encouragement today in knowing you do not fight this battle alone and that this posts helps you in some small way.

Take the time today to find your joy, inspiration & passion! God Bless you all and I will talk to you again soon.

Please comment or send me a message if you have any suggestions or just need to talk.  Deena 🙂

Callie! Salad & Exercise cravings are good cravings! Much better than chocolate, which happens to me fairly often no matter how hard I try I still need the occasional chocolate! I pray that you didn't push too hard. I always, always feel better after a walk no matter how short it is! A little bit of exercise is better than none at all!

I love the spoon theory. It helped me cope a lot in the beginning stages. Also, I've had this craving for salad and exercise. Work has been stressful which is why I believe I was craving exercise. Although a small amount, it cleared my head and made me feel a little accomplished today. Hopefully I didn't push too hard and will feel okay the next few days!
